Day 1: Destruction Has Begun!
As you are all aware, we have been planning a redevelopment of our Grange-over-Sands office on Kents Bank Road for the last few years. The plans have been drawn and then re-drawn until we finally settled on the new layout and design of our office.
Progression Solicitors opened its first independent office in Ulverston in 2005. Even 14 years ago I was keen to undertake the project of renovating the building with a modern approach, using local materials and labour as far as possible, as well as ensuring the building would be as eco-friendly as possible. We used roof slates from Burlington Slate Mine, local firms to provide building services and because the building is Grade II Listed, retained as much of the external character as possible.
I am approaching our new project in Grange with the same mindset. The fabric of the building will be largely maintained but the interior will be transformed to make the best use of the space that we have. We have teamed up with family-run business Bridgewater Development who are based in Barrow-in-Furness to take on the conversion, keeping the job as local as possible!
