Michele Ashton, BA (Associate)
Michele Ashton originally joined the business in Summer 2018 as Progression’s Data Protection Representative. After qualifying as a solicitor in 2006, Michele practised family law at a local firm. In 2010 she changed direction, working in the defence sector and specialising in compliance with US Export Control Regulations. This included managing Export Control Compliance Investigations, Assurance Audits and Risk. Her experience includes advising clients on both their own personal data privacy rights as well as any compliance obligations they may have as Data Controllers under the GDPR. Michele ensures the firm’s compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
More recently Michele has settled back into her familiar role as a family law solicitor, supporting the department alongside Lisa Bell (Director) in offering family advice to clients. Michele advises clients in all aspects of matrimonial and family arrangements including divorce, financial remedy, separation agreements and applying for or responding to an application for a child arrangements order. Michele represents clients in family court in private proceedings where necessary.
Michele also has experience dealing with employment matters on behalf of both employees and employers such as breach of contract, dismissals and compromise agreements.
